On Campus Job Requirements
and Directions:
In order to work on campus during the fall/spring semester, a student must be enrolled and maintain at least six credit hours throughout the entire term at the UIC campus or at an Illinois State Funded University. In order to be eligible during the summer term, a student must meet one of the following criteria:
-
Complete at least six credit hours during the spring term.
- Register and maintain at least part-time for the summer term. Please verify with Student Employment for the current hours required.
- Be newly admitted to the University and intend on taking at least six credit hours.
If you attend an Illinois state-funded university other than the University of Illinois at Chicago, please note that it will be required for you to bring in proof of registration every term that you work on campus. If the proof is not brought in, your appointment(s) will be terminated.
NOTE: Students must be registered for six credit hours (or more). If you fall below the mininum requirement, you are no longer eligible to work through Student Employment. Therefore, your department will receive a notice to terminate your position(s).
Once you have been hired by a department on campus, you must report to the Student Employment Office, 2100 SSB, with your Requisition Form (issued to you by the hiring dept.) between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday to complete the necessary hire paperwork. Please note: this process can take 20-40 minutes. You must also bring in documents for the Immigrations Reform and Control Act of 1986. Please review what documents are required under "Employment Documentation".
